“It has been already 5 weeks since Esba came to our home, but it feels like she’s always been with us.
Immediately after she arrived to our apartment she spent a little bit of time in the wardrobe to get used to the new situation. Probably the need for closeness and caressing was stronger than the fear and she started to adapt very fast. Soon after, Esba was renamed “Papusza”, after a Polish-Romani classic poet and singer.
Papusza is a cat who loves attention. She likes to participate in everything we do. Recently, she started to like to sit on your lap which wasn’t so in the beginning. If she feels left out or she needs anything, she immediately lets us know with a loud meow, or by scratching something. However, she is a very well behaved cat: she has a good appetite, she is also super clean and gentle. She is very clever, sensitive, and very capable of recognizing different situations and moods. Her real age is a mystery, but she is still very playful. Her favorite toy is a fishing rod with a string attached to a felt ball. She loves it! She also interacts quite a lot with her own reflection in the mirror. That happens especially in the evenings when she is in a playful mood.
Papusza is a curious type. She loves to observe the outside world through the (duly secured) window. She is also quite friendly with our guests. Recently, she became more and more curious about crossing the apartment’s door threshold. Papusza doesn’t mind to wear a harness and walk on a leash. That’s why, from time to time, we take her for short walks around the staircase. We want to take it easy before she feels like going out for a longer stroll, though.
These weeks were more about getting to know each other, recognizing Papusza’s tastes and habits. We are still amazed by how Papusza is a great fit to our family. She is very happy with us and so are we.”

Esba on kuusivarpainen, keski-ikäinen kissarouva.

Esba on kuusivarpainen laivakissa. Sijaiskotiin saavuttuaan se vietti ensimmäiset 24 tuntia kaapin alla, mutta tuli sitten ihmeen helposti paijattavaksi. Esba hakeutuu ihmisen seuraan, puskee hurjasti ja kellahtaa pian selälleen. Pakkohan siinä on sitten katsoa toinenkin jakso sarjaa, kun ei voi paijausta kesken jättää! Esba hakee silityksiä säännöllisesti, mutta mikään sylikissa se ei ole.
Esba säikkyy vielä melko helposti, eikä se anna nostaa itseään syliin. Uudessa kodissa tulisi tämän vuoksi olla kissakokemusta sekä varmuutta kissan käsittelyyn. Esba asuu sijaiskodissa kaverinsa Barbin kanssa, mutta saattaa helposti hermostua tälle, joka johtaa sähinään ja läpsimiseen. Esba viihtyy myös yksin omassa rauhassaan, ja etsii omaa kotia ainoana lemmikkinä. Sijaiskodin perheeseen kuuluu myös teini, joka stressaa Esbaa jonkin verran. Uuden kodin tulisikin olla aikuiskoti.
Esba pääsee muuttamaan omaan kotiin hammashoidon jälkeen huhti-toukokuun vaihteen jälkeen.
